Fire and Rescue

Ladder_Truck_WebThe Mechanic Falls Fire / Rescue Department, created in 1895, proudly serves our community with an "on-call" membership. Our station is not staffed with personnel at all times. Most of our staff are employed elsewhere and serve the department when they are available. Each member is furnished communications equipment so they can receive emergency calls and respond from wherever they may be at the time. Our departments handle every type of emergency just as you would expect from a full time - larger community department.

Our Mission Statement:

When called to duty, we the members of the Mechanic Falls Fire / Rescue Department, offer our minds, bodies and souls to lend a hand to those in need. No matter the time of day, or day in the year, or the miles we have to travel, we stand ready to assist with any emergency we are capable of handling and for those situations we can’t handle ourselves, we’ll find the people who can.
